Wangdao: The Life and Times of the First Chinese Translation of the Communist Manifesto” is a panoramic account of the life and times of the publication of the first Chinese translation of the Communist Manifesto from a small perspective, from the writing of the Communist Manifesto by Marx and Engels to the founding of the Communist Party of China to the translation of the Communist Manifesto into Chinese by Chen Wangdao, and firmly grasps the main line of the translation of the Communist Manifesto. It also focuses on the translation of the Communist Manifesto and portrays the “Wangdao's” among the intellectuals in the early twentieth century, as well as their influence on the first generation of Chinese leaders and the significance they brought to the Chinese revolution in the course of the dissemination of the Communist Manifesto.
